On the morning of June 13, workers from the farm of Guangzhou Ruifeng Fishery Development Co., LTD were busy sorting, inflating and packing the fresh-caught Marble Goby in the packing room. After passing the inspection and quarantine of Panyu Customs belonging to Guangzhou Customs District, P.R.China, this batch of 500 kg of Marble Goby was quickly loaded and shipped to the airport for Singapore, and sent to Singapore trading company on the morning of June 14. It is reported as the first export of Guangzhou Marble Goby to Singapore.
Guangzhou Customs helped Guangzhou Marble Goby be first exported to Singapore.
Marble Goby(scientific name: Oxyeleotris marmoratus) is native to Thailand, Australia and other countries, and is named in Chinese for its resemblance to the bamboo shoot shell. Marble Goby is delicate in meat, delicious in taste and high in nutritional value. In the 1980s, Marble Goby was introduced into the Zhujiang River Delta, China. There were two main species, Oxyeleotris marmoratus and Oxyeleotris lineolatus which have become one of the most popular varieties of artificial aquaculture in China.
Guangzhou Ruifeng Fishery Development Co., Ltd. is an enterprise specializing in Marble Goby breeding. It exports “waterless” live fish through oxygenated low-temperature packaging which can make it survive for about 48 hours and is conducive to the long-distance transportation of fresh fish products. “We used to do domestic trade. The research found that overseas markets have strong demand, but how to handle export customs clearance is the first problem we face.” Faced with this problem, the company’s general manager Chi Jinquan went to Panyu Customs for help.
Under the guidance of experts from Panyu Customs, the enterprise was registered as an outbound aquatic farm according to obtain the qualification of exporting live fish. At the same time, in order to support similar enterprises in exploring overseas markets, Panyu Customs collected and sorted out the inspection and quarantine requirements and standards of the imported countries and regions provided consulting services and technical support, carried out security risk monitoring and disease monitoring, and guided enterprises to constantly improve standardized quality control systems.
“After getting the export qualification, our first export order was successfully signed, but another problem followed.” Chi Jinquan said that Marble Goby is a kind of fresh product, which requires high-speed transportation and customs clearance. “Our fish use oxygenated low-temperature packaging and must reach the local market in Singapore within 48 hours to ensure the commodity is fresh.”
For the first export of live fish to Singapore by the enterprise in the customs area, Panyu Customs gives guidance to the enterprises in advance, understands the production, logistics and other plans of the enterprises, arranges professional personnel to guide the enterprises to make the online declaration, and follows up the entire process of drawing up animal health certificates and sending them to the enterprises. At the same time, on-site inspection is carried out according to the loading and shipping date of live fish, to ensure that the loading and shipping of enterprises and customs inspection and quarantine are not wrong, which effectively shortens the inspection and quarantine time and fully protects the quality of exported live fish.
